Q: What kind of test should I pass to join the study program?

A: CBT of Academic potention test and English Proficiency test

 

Q: Is there international class for foreign students in this study program?

A: All courses are conducted in English language, so foreign students will always be able to join the regular class.

 

STUDY PROFILE

Q: What degree will I get after graduating from this school?

A: You will get M.Pd (Magister Pendidikan) or Master of Education.

 

Q: What is the difference between master of english language education and master of applied linguistics?

A: English Education courses prepare you to become a licensed English teacher. The courses focus on the psychological and sociological foundations inherent in education, different philosophies of education, educational terminology, methods of teaching, and statistics used in teaching. Meanwhile studying applied linguistics means increasing your understanding of how language works in a wide range of personal, social and professional environments. With a major in Applied Linguistics, you’ll learn how to express yourself effectively in written and spoken modes, and how the way you communicate helps or hinders your relationships. The major in applied linguistics will touch on practical issues such as the relationship between languages, cultures and societies; the acquisition of second and foreign languages; the teaching and learning of languages; language policy; and cross-cultural communication.

THESIS RESEARCH

Q: In what semester will I start my thesis research? How long will it take?

A: In the 3rd semester you can start your thesis research. It can take a year or a year and a half to finish your thesis research.

 

Q: What support will I get during my research?

A: You will be helped by your thesis advisor and the wrting clinic where you can learn about publication. The Student Board Association also hold numerous writing training (workshop and seminar) to support your research and publication.

 

Q: How do I request for extension period for my reesearch?

A: You can contact and consult to the Coordinator of the Study Program (Kaprodi), your thesis advisor and study program’s administrator for help
